Long story short thought I could last a while after selling my 80 but I'm getting ansy to get into a cruiser again. So thougjt I'd throw my Passat up and see if anyone wants a low mileage high mpg sedan. It's a basic 1.8T GLS 4-dr. I bought it from brother's co-worker's mother who was in a home for most of the car's life. Yes, the proverbial little old laddy's car. It had 26,500 miles on it when I got it two years ago this upcoming labor day. It is now sitting at 47,300 and of course going up about 300 a week. Just put new tires on at 47,000 miles cause the old ones were just that old. Previous owner had replaced them at some point but they suffered frome age even thougj they had tread left. All rotors and pads were replaced a couple months ago. Car has two known issues. First the tiptronic sport shifting doesn't work. There is nothing wrong with the tranny and it works fine in standardauto mode. I think it's just the contacts in the shifter itself. I don't think granny was much of a sport shifter. The other issue is the cruise. It stopped working and since I detest our VW dealer I have never had it looked at. Last aI looked the car booked around five grand - course you book one with 100,000 miles on it and it will give you the same value. Book doesn't really cover cars this low in miles. So, basically, what I'm saying is you could drive it 50.000 miles and it would still book the same.
Now what I'm looking for is an FJ60. Requirements are it has to be a solid driver. It has to have rear seat belts. Has to have functioning a/c. Can take or give cash for the right vehicle. Not looking for a beat up trail truck and no a 60 with bad rust four bald missmatched tires and a/c that 'needs charging' ( we all know that is code for it's broke and I either don't know how to fix it or can't afford to fix it) is not going to get a straight trade. Lifteded or unlifted doesn't matter tire size anywhere from stock to 35's is fine. Not overly concerned with extras (though they're always nice) more concerned with 'Can I reasonably expect to put 20k on withput any major cash oulays'.
I'm in Tulsa, OK easiest way to get ahold of me is rallybug@yahoo.com I don't check the forum like I used to.
