Hello,

Been throwing the code P0121 a few times lately which puts the truck into limp mode. I have talked to a few mechanics and they all said that the only thing that it could be is the throttle body. They couldn't guarantee that it was just the sensor or something else contained in the throttle body so they recommended that if I was up for it to just replace the whole thing.

Has anyone replaced the throttle body themselves? I haven't had this particular rig too long and haven't done much mechanical stuff myself to it yet. Used to working on old Rovers. Would love some insight or notes before I dive in or decide to pay someone to do it for me.

Thanks

Nick

K, gonna try to get out and at least clean the TB before I drop $1k to replace it. I'm in the middle of a move. Would someone mind taking a few photos from the repair manual so I can remove it and not miss a step? Also, what about cleaning it and just replacing the sensors?

Also, I'm in the middle of a move, would anyone mind taking a few photo's of the repair manual for those pages and posting them?

Thanks

A Toyota dealer tried to sell me on replacing the TB when I had the same problem a few years ago. They said that was the only way they could replace the TPS. But due to the $$ I got a second opinion at another Toyota dealer. They recommended replacing the TPS and said it was not necessary to replace the TB with it. Came out to somewhere in the low $200s. No problems since.

You may ultimately have a different problem, but I thought I'd share my experience.

Sorry, but no help with the manual photos. Good luck with the fix!
