1998 Tacoma Manual Transmission Re-install (1 Viewer)

Hi All -

Trying to get my 1998 Tacoma 4x4 transmission/transfer case back in after changing the clutch plate and pressure plate. This thing is a bear - already spent 3 hrs trying to get it back in. I have a transmission jack and alignment dowels (cut off bolts) in two of the lower mounting holes, but it will not line up and slide in. Anyone have any other tricks/ suggestions? It came out tough. I guess going back in will be the same way.

Update - got it in after 4 or so hours. Had my Dad turn the rear output on the TC. Must have rotated the spline just enough to catch and slide into the clutch plate.

@stoshzack sorry i missed this, glad you finally got it in. if you ever need any local help post up in the ONSC clubhouse, i'm not to far from you. lots of help in the raleigh area.
