Greetings all, I just listed my silver/grey 98 Land Cruiser on Autotrader and a member here recommended that I post in this forum as well.

Alot of details and pictures are on my ad at autotrader http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...sed&searchRadius=25&listingId=329407205&Log=0

In a nutshell though, I'm the 2nd owner and the 1st owner was another family here in Augusta and it's never been off-road as far as I'm aware, and it's been well maintained and cared for. Garaged mostly over the years and the paint and dash/seats etc are in excellent condition.

It's just had about $1,600 of 180,000 mile scheduled maintenance, including timing belt, water pump (entire dealer advised kit), in addition to all the other hoses/brake pads and rear differential maintenance etc. I've all the detailed receipts/documentation on that of course.

It will need some new tires pretty soon. I'm waiting to see if there's buying interest from someone that would plan to lift it and put larger tires, etc. Didn't want to put on 275 size Michelins right now if a buyer would just replace with larger.

No rust; only seen snow sporadically (this is Augusta, GA after all). No problems and no accidents. Everything works except the AM radio antenna. Cosmetically some of the black coating on the roof rack is coming off and I touched up a small spot above front right fog light with some silver Toyota paint (picture on auto trader ad). Has tow package and the "magic dial" as I've seen it referred to.

I'd rather sell it to an enthusiast on here, so I'm willing to negotiate somewhat on the price. I've listed it for $9,400. It's been a great vehicle and please let me know if any ?'s via email or phone. Thanks JD

Talked with the seller, John is a stand up guy. One of the cleanest '98 that I have seen. Things didn't work out on my end, but someone will get a great deal when they buy this truck.

I talked to John last week as soon as I saw this pop up on Autotrader. I got so excited over the condition of this LC I totally lost focus of the lack of rear AC in the '98. I'm in Texas, and will need to use 3rd row occasionally so I do need AC.

Anyway, I suggested he post the ad on MUD. If I could do without the rear AC I'd be all over this. It's definitely worth a look. Wish I was closer!

GLWS !!

Pm's responded to and really appreciated all the positive feedback! I'll keep replying to any ?'s, thanks again JD

I really wish I could buy this, and if I was in the SE I probably would. All the pics John has sent have been super clean--not a spot of rust anywhere. Price is right--about the lowest price LC in the US & well taken care of. GLWS.

Bump for a GA boy!

One of the best buys on mud

GLWTS!

I can't believe this hasn't sold. Before I decided rear AC was a necessity for me I looked at some 80's, including the one below that the ask is $8500 (not to mention I looked at this locally, it was $6500 last month, obviously seller bought and is trying to flip for $2000 after doing really nothing of value IMO)

https://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-trailers-sale-wanted/619137-1996-lx450-diff-locks-dfw-tx.html

Anyway, so John's clean 100 @ $8400 vs that 80 for $8500 asking. NO BRAINER!!!

And now that I jumped to a 100 for rear AC I "decided" I need the VSC, ATRAC and 4 pinion vs 2 pinion. So, I'm stuck at the 2000 model year. Funny how that happens.

I'm tempted to pull the trigger and drive this until I find a 2000 I want/need. It's cooling off in TX now and won't worry about AC until next May!

98 LC

I'm optimistic that by next week she'll have a new home with a mudder. Have enjoyed the process here and thanks for the bumps today! Doc, im glad to see you're talking yourself out of rear AC.. it's really overrated ;). John
