Notice that OEM steering wheels seem to be pretty rare. (Other than the new ones at the dealer, which are exorbitantly expensive.)

Can anyone advise regarding other OEM steering wheels that fit the 1998-2002 100 series, including accepting the OEM 100 series center horn/airbag pad?

Such as other Toyota...?...OEM steering wheels ?

TIA...

when mine is up to be replaced i want to replace it with a Lexus one that has wood on top which is where my leather is starting to wear. i think someone here has done that and found the wheel on ebay?

I replaced with the ebay one listed above, The wood makes a huge difference. I had replaced once with a recovered wheel and the top wore out very quickly.

I have one of the eBay ones linked above and initially it was lighter than the weathered airbag, but now after driving it it is starting to match in color.

A little off but close enough for me. Makes truck feel upscale.

Yes. My second wheel was the $400 metric wheel that did not last.

My current wheel is the $300 one in the eBay link. The wood seems the same as all other vehicles I have been in with wood wheels. I am not 100 % sure that it is real but it is close enough.

I am actually looking for non-wood type. This LX (1999) came with 100% leather, I would prefer that or some plain textured resilient plastic OEM Toyota or ?

Problem with a vehicle that posted maybe 50k total units per year production is that salvage parts are scarce. $700+ for a new steering wheel is ridiculous.

If anyone out there has a "takeoff" OEM wheel that they don't need (condition unimportant) I'd be interested in speaking with you.

At some point, I'd like to send my OEM wheel off to be professionally recovered, but I still need "something" to drive the truck with during the 2 - 3 weeks that it's at the upholsterer........and a set of rusty vice grips clamped to the steering column isn't going to get it done!!! :)

I had mine recovered by Dallas Custom Steering Wheel with extra padding and it is awesome!

No pics with me but it is nicer than OEM.

I had Craft Custom in Dallas do a wood / extra padding wheel for my 80 and will be sending this one up when I cna either find a spare or the downtime.... it really made the truck IMHO..... it's the connection point to the rig. they matched the wood sample I sent PREFECTLY.....not cheap but it was all but perfect.
