I say go with the SAS.. I'm bout to do my taco!!
My ifs has stood up a while but just won't hold up to what I'm getting into. I just broke another cv axel on our last ride.

How hard do u wheel ?? That's what will really determine if u NEED SA.

Agreed with Southern. Your wheeling will dictate what you need. The stock Taco front will hold up to alot and he would now it's limits for sure. If the rig is in good shape then I would just grab it and have some fun. Upgrade as needed and if you find yourself getting into the deeper stuff, then you can jump in on the SAS when the time comes.

Wheel it til you break it. Upgrade. Repeat.

Agreed!!!

And I have gave my ifs hell with 35's on it for a while almost 10 years. And only replaced maybe 6cv's( including the new set on the way) it's rather tough... But very poor when u add a locker and rocks.. Cv's go boom lol... But no locker and medium to a little hard wheeling u ok!

Plan on working it pretty hard, maybe 35s...or 37s..

My little baby 1983BJ42 will see some light wheeling, so the taco will be the more hardcore wheeler..

What does the fire wall measure to the radiator??

Well yea if u gonna be wheeling hardcore maybe u should start thinking SAS. Lol ... But wheel with ur ifs now and buy all ur parts and hardware for ur SA swap and when u got everything slap it together!!! And enjoy a front locker and 37's with some gears and u will be doing great. I can't wait to do my taco it's very VERY SOON :) !!

I don't know the answer to that. But I will put a tape measure on it tomorrow...
