***SOLD*** 1997 sage 40th 27k original miles

***SOLD***

Okay folks. I picked up this LC a couple of months ago. I'm thinking I'd like to sell it for as much as possible, buy a cruiser that is already built, and pocket some extra cash. My wife is devastated that we need to sell it, but I promised I'd get her one with lockers, sliders, and bumpers. I'm not sure why that didn't help, because it sure made me feel better...

Anyway, I'll be playing ebay roulette with it, seeing what I can get from some collector out there. Thought I'd let folks around here know about it as well.

Now, I don't want any haters here. I'm not listing it for a 'fair' price. I'm listing it high enough to take the sting out of selling a one-of-a-kind vehicle, with the idea of investing in one of the other awesome built rigs for sale here. We'll see what happens. I simply don't have $8k to drop in upgrades to this LC, and hate the idea of the wife putting thousands of suburban miles on this stock beauty.

Buy it now price: $27k

Do you have any undercarriage pictures?

I'm down with a cold today, but I'll get some tomorrow.

Damn $27,000!? Didn't you buy it for like $12,000? I tried to buy it and would have actually built it. It's a shame you bought it basically to flip it.

Fireguy- I didn't buy it to flip it. I would love to keep it and build it, and let my kids drive it to high school some day, etc. unfortunately I can't afford to. Self employed, had a few setbacks in the last month. I apologize if that bothers you.

Would you be interested in a trade? I have a 96 LX450 that has perfect service records, ARB front with Warn, TJM heavy lift, FJ rims w/ BFG 35", Rockware rear swing and Rockware sliders (rear and sliders are not installed right now)

Dino,

I am selling this thing because I'm a bit cash-poor right now, so I probably would only consider a trade+cash deal. Thanks, though.

7schulz - thanks for the input. I'm not going to disagree with you, actually. It is kind of tough to find the value on a vehicle like this because there's not a ton of them out there. That is why it is listed on Ebay, where I assume I will learn what it's really worth on the market.

bhmmapping - In Utah, like many other states, the state stops monitoring mileage on vehicles over 10 years old. The first time this vehicle was resold was to me, and I declared the mileage, but the title came back "exempt."

We do a good job salting our roads here. Makes for great driving, but can be tough on the vehicles. This vehicle was always garaged, and I've read that parking in a nice warm environment with salty wet undercarriage speeds up any corrosion that might happen. There is no rust on the body that I could find, btw, just on some of the frame and suspension components, etc. Also, it was nice and salty on the freezing snowy day I was driving this around and taking pics, so the extra gritty whiteness of the salt sure didn't help things look nicer under there...

Sweet Cruiser .. imagine that this it's the price you should be willing to pay for an close to new 80 .. sadly it don't have lockers .. that would be the cherry ..

Rust - what more can I say? If it's there it's everywhere. Compare......
