I have a 1997 S320 that has barely seen the light of day in over a year. its at an indoor RV storage place.I moved to michigan and decided i didnt want to put it through the salt and torturous roads out here.
Anyway. its my baby and has been in the family since ~2000
its brilliant silver on black interior.
if i remember correctly is has ~190k miles; but only because it lived in southern california most its life... you cant drive less than 15 miles just to go to a grocery store even if its just accross the street is seems.
It gets an oil change every 4-5 months and fluids changed every year (and will continue to do so while in storage, even if it is stupid to do that) and also is started up for 15 minutes every week and my brother or friend picks it up once a month to drive it around for a day or two before put back into its restful slumber.
I tried to give it to my mom but she thinks its too big. my stepfather already drive a s500, and my brother in califonia doesnt want a sedan (i guess he likes to shuttle his 2 yr old in sportscar i guess... he must be in some kind of denial or mid life crisis).
it has 18" wheels from a 2004 mercedes S600 that was purchased at the dealer. and updated rear tail lights, but the originals have been kept as well.
The transmission has been replaced at 145k miles and the engine was rebuilt at 185k miles.
it does have a phantom leak that no one can locate for some god unknown reason, but its only an occasional drip only noticed by looking on the floor it was parked on.
point of the whole thing i guess is to trade it to a good home for something else; i would really like to see it being driven. what? i dont know. whatever it is it will probably be in storage also, but i guess it'd be cool to drive something different when im in town.
motorcycle? car? suv? whatever, and who knows, i may put money on top of it for the trade?
i also have a 2001 clk55 w/ every option available at the time(navigation, designo edition, mercedes' version of onstar, integrated phone, etc) that has been in storage since 2002 w/ ~500 miles buuuut.... i think that will just stay in its dormant state for another decade or two unless something badass is up for grabs/trade.
rules state that i must put a price, so.. lets say...
$1,000,000.00 (LOL) or best offer/ trade.
oh... and this is located in Sacramento, CA. pm/call me if you want to see it and ill call the storage place to notify them of your arrival
edit: also am up to creative trading. i dont mind shipping/receiving on either end long as a reputable trucking company would act as the 'escrow' to make sure neither of us are being taken for a ride... but that would mean multiple phone conversations and a document drawn up by my lawyer or something along those lines. if youre willing to go through the headache, i guess ill share the experience with you.
will post pics soon.
edit 2: sadly these are the only 2 photos i have... and they are a couple years old, but very acurate minus the alien sticker.
