ENT will finance at 125% of value. I bought my '95 with 105K miles, mods (OME, Slee sliders, roof rack), and a ton of Slee PM including headgasket in Sept '05 for $13,800 and got the entire thing financed including sales tax on a four year loan at 5.75%. Book was around $12K I think.

If you are really interested, talk to ENT. The PO in my case was also an ENT customer, and the entire deal took 15 minutes and I ended up with the truck and a $340/mo or so payment. Perfect way to finance your mods at pennies on the dollar.

$17,500 is still a stretch, but maybe not as big a one as you think depending on where book is right now. 18 months ago you could have put that whole thing in your loan for sure.

I just looked up ENT. So they are in Colorado? and they (easily) finance a vehicle that's over 7 years old? That's nice! Looks like they'll do 48 month loans on "classic" vehicles over 7 years old.

Yes, ENT is a local credit union in Colorado Springs. They easily finance older rigs at 125% of book value over four years at good rates. That is the way to buy a rig like this one and get your mods in the loan as much as possible.

Or an equity line of credit on your house with the interest being tax deductible. No one even cares how that $$ is used...

Bump.

Or ELoan or Capital One.

Yes there should be plenty of options out there...I wasn't suggesting everybody try to finance out of COS :D , just an example of what you can do to score a great rig like this that is already modified (and supercharged, which is huge). I probably saved $5K-$6K by going after a perfectly maintained rig that was already moderately built and happened to get super lucky as the perfect rig came up for sale 2 miles from my house right when I was in the market.

Last bump from me for a great rig, good luck! :D

Buying someone else's project is generally cheaper. Would be for sure in this case.

Have you done a breakdown of the build costs on your 80? I think many folks- especially the Ebay crowd understand what it really costs. Other times, the things people list as uprgrades are ridiculous, including fuel system cleaner, windshield wiper refills, and other regular PM.

I'd like to see the list on yours as well.

Granbury -- you're in Nolen' former town.

I think if I did a list like that i'd take the truck off the market and shoot myself, in that order. ;)

I wish I could buy it. I doubt I could convince the wife to let me buy two lifted, locked '97 80's in two months, though.

How much would you sell the one you just bought for? Has it been in AL all it's life?

Yep- I never met Nolen, but knew of him here.

Assuming you're a good shot, that would make your truck available again, potentially at a significant discount!:whoops:

Well, after hunting with Nolen over the break, I'll bet he could predict the odds of success here. Suffice it to say that a deer that is 70 yards away from me is perfectly safe even if I am firing a rifle at it.

It has not been in Alabama it's entire life. It was originally in TN. I bought it to replace my '94 (see sig) which is for sale.

So, I would sell the one I have for somewhere in the vicinity of 11.5-12,000. It's in good shape, but needs O2 sensors and a tune-up.

I paid 10,600 for it, and that includes a set of five steelies with brand new BFG M/T's and a bunch of spare parts, as well as slee-sliders. I've taken the crap wood trim s*** off and fixed some little things.

So, it's not really for sale, but everything has a price.
