1996 tacoma cruise control trouble

Hello folks hoping somebody on here has had this issue.

When using jumper wire to self diagnose: light flashes normal code. Any of you guys had the stalk wear out?

the clutch return sping can cause trouble.On my 96 4runner cruise does not work unless I pull the clutch pedal up all the way.
