Price: $12,000 OBO

I've decided to sell my 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser FJZ80 - 189k Miles. I purchased this beautiful 80 last May from a local seller. The reason I bought this LC was because it had low miles for each age, no rust, regular maintenance and big ticket items done, great carfax, paint was in great shape, and had lived in Northern CO it's whole life (so no rust and low miles). It was originally purchased at Peterson Toyota in Fort Collins and has never traveled far.

This truck is in EXCELLENT condition for each age, and I have put in about $8000 mechanically and cosmetically to get it ready for the next 15 years. This is my primary vehicle and daily driver, and I have been planning on keeping it until it blows up, but I've decided to sell it to fund a supercharged 100 series LC project.

This cruiser does not have locking diffs, and has not been off-roaded by me or the previous owner. I used it as a camping rig and a few trips this last summer. Condition: Mechanically and cosmetically in great shape. I've done A LOT of work to this (described below) since ownership and she was already in good shape. You will be hard-pressed to find one in better shape for this price. The cruiser runs very smooth and is mechanically sound. Paint is not oxidized or fading (few scratches), front seats are cracked (I've ordered replacement leather), few scratches on dash but no cracks. Carpet is in good and clean.

Mechanical Work...

Previous Owner (work done in last 3 years):

Replaced the Front Birfield Axle Joints (in 2015)
Regular Maintenance and synthetic oil only
Optima Red-Top Battery
Replaced many/most vac hoses
Power Steering pump replaced
Pesky Heater Hose replaced
Compression Tested
New Goodyear Wrangler LT 285-75 R16 Tires (75% tread left today)
  • I bought the Discount Tire warranty when I purchased the vehicle. The warranty will transfer to the new buyer
Upgraded Stereo system (speakers, amp, bluetooth head unit)

Work I've done or had done by my mechanic (since may):

Fixed 3 oil leaks (mechanic)
ALL Fluids Replaced (Synthetic Redline fluids)
New belts, MAF hose, and High Pressure Power Steering Hose (mechanic)
Replaced Throttle Cable
Replaced Brake Booster
Replaced Carbon Canister
Replaced O2 sensors (upstream and downstream)
Blue Aisan Fan Clutch
New Spark Plugs
New brake pads and rotors

I have the Factory Service Manual for the 96 that will go to the new owner.

The Bad: VERY Slow oil leak from the timing chain cover just started (I have not had to add oil).

***That's it!

Upgrades:

1. Custom drawer system and sleeping platform

  • I'm a woodworker and I built these drawers this summer. It is a seperated, 2 drawer system with storage on the wings. You can remove one or both drawers if you need to use the 3rd row jump seats. Custom cut and fitted for the cruiser. 36 in 800 lb drawer slides, Raptor Liner coated. These turned out great and makes storage and camping MUCH more functional. Purchasing a drawer system like this will run you north of $2000.
2. IronMan 4x4 Front Bumper (lights not wired) and 12,000 lb Badlands Winch (installed but not wired yet)
3. OME 2.5 inch (heavy load) lift kit. The previous owner installed the OME medium load, I upgraded it to heavy load, caster bushings, and OME steering stabilizer. Rides very smooth.

4. Installed Sound Deadening mat (front doors, rear quarter panels and cargo floor)

5. Installed Whole Hog Subwoofer bracket, 8 inch Boss sub, and dedicated amp. This bracket hides the sub and amp behind the passenger rear quarter panel.

6. Installed Viper 4105v Remote Start System with Power Locks (professionally installed)

7. Upgraded headlights to HIR Bulbs

8. Thule Roof Rack System

9. BH3D Cup Holders (front and rear)

10. Professionally Installed Window Tint

11. Plasti-Dipped Wheels, Grille, Chrome Trim, and Toyota Badges (can be power-washed off if needed)

12. New LED Tail Light Housings

***ScanGuage is not included.

Unfinished Projects:

1. I recently ordered replacement leather for the front two seats from LSEAT. I have not installed them, but was planning on doing this myself and will pass on the tools needed to the new owner.

2. I have everything needed to install seat heaters including the hard-to-find factory Switches. If you're local, I have a great electrical guy that can get this wired up clean when the seats are done.

3. I've installed the Sound Deadener mat in the cargo area, rear quarter panels, and front doors. I was planning on doing the rest of the vehicle and I do have some material left for it.

4. Lights on the bumper and winch need to be wired.

****I will provide all parts/materials that I have for these projects.

If you are interested, I can send you the Carfax and paperwork digitally. Title in hand. Passed CO emissions in June 2018. 12,000 OBO.

Cash, PayPal, or cashier's check only.
