can anyone tell me what the first gear ratio and the trasfer case gear ratio is for the 95-97 landcruisers? tryin to figure out what would the crawl ratio for a 97 landruiser with 4.56's would be?

A343 1st gear 2.804:1

Transfer low 2.49:1

2.804 x 2.49 x 4.56 = 31.837738:1 (plus torque converter multiplication).

D-

Then check my homework.....:D

What is first gear for the 93-94 tranny? Is there any difference in the transfer on these years compared to 95-97? (sorry if its been covered before but a quick search didn't pull up anything)

The 442 1st gear is 2.950:1. The transfer low range is the same.

(Let cc93 do the math on this one..;) )

How much do you think torque converter multiplication adds?

I do not know how one would calculate it but it is significant.

to Dan :2.95x2.488x4.10=30.09236-crawl ratio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(but I already knew that) :D Hey Dan the crawl ratio seems kinda low compared to my bro's bubicon=65.76:1 ratio? tell me something to make me feel better about my 93 cruiser  , I know, it's a heep, it is bound to break down! :flipoff2:

The torque convertor is a 1.8 to one multiplyer. So do some more math to figure that one out for all years. 93-97. later robbie

Based on Robbie's observation of 1.8 in the converter that gives you 54.166248:1...........Is that better?...:D

Yes and power braking when you want to build power before you work an object, No clutch to change at 100 k or when you burn it. Toyota reliability. later robbie

Some fun facts according to Marks. I was trying to figure out the rear diff ratio for my ls swap. so I found this info.
