I'd have to guess it's a phasing scam. No phone number listed and "frame welded side steps?"....would think most cruiser owners would call them sliders...just a hunch...could be legit.

*Phishing

Although, I don't know, one of the original ads does say it went to a winery near Fredericksurg, so maybe legit? Seems like a good price.

this is no scam guys I went and looked at it the vehicle is a hell of a deal and the seller is motivated to get rid of it it does have some problems it has a oil leak which may be a bad gasket at the oil pan as well as the AC is not working this may be an easy fix the lockers an engine and all the electronic components work but like I said I am holding out for an hdj81 the wife is not thrilled about getting a toy that needs a bit of money dumped into it if you email the guy he will send you his number I'm not sure if he would want me to just post his number on the forums

I contacted the seller Mike and it sounds legit. I am very interested but concern about the minor issues. The price is right

This truck will definitely need some baselining, however it runs and drives great. I'll post all the details i know about it:

"The AC needs repair from hitting a deer"
"the oil pan has a crack, but its still driveable"
"the windows and seats work great, the speedo works on and off but the rest of the gauges work fine"
"no rust at all"
"I drive to san antonio and back and i lose roughly two quarts of oil over this 160 mile round trip"

I sent them an email but never received a reply. Wonder if I showed up with a new oil pan and gasket if I could drive it 1600 miles home...

I've emailed, I've texted. Maybe a sign this is not the cruiser to fly to, fix and drive home

hey guys, i just want to give everyone a heads up..... I've been talking to the owner of this truck for 3 days now and been texting back and forth. while texting, it seemed like he was ignoring some of my questions and would only answer some of them so i thought he just wasn't aware of things. i then called him last night and asked him to tell me everything that is wrong with the truck. i knew about the oil leak and the ac which seemed to be the biggest issues on the truck. i asked him other questions and he basically answered everything with positive responses. i asked him about shocks being worn or blown, any alignment issues, brakes, axle leaks, blow by, interior pieces etc etc. he said brakes were awesome and brand new front and rear, drives straight as an arrow down the road, interior is flawless.... so i borrowed a trailer and took the day off to get the rig, drove 4 hrs to get there and right when i walked up to the car i had a bad feeling...under body was covered in so much oil that i didn't know what was leaking and what was from the oil leak, i couldn't tell if the diff were good, any rust, or anything. but i looked pass that since i knew it had a big leak... i started it up and motor ran great, took it for a drive and tranny shifted very solid... brakes were the worse brakes i have ever felt, it was obviously leaking or had a blown seal some where because it would go down to the floor every time you step on the brakes, power steering seemed to be working half way decent and hard to turn the wheel, i drove it 20mph and it was feeling like it wanted to sway left and right, shocks felt spongy, interior was decent but it did have some cracked pieces and hood latch didn't work, front bumper was bent on it, all the brackets that bolted the control arms were dented and bent up, all the hoses and bushings under the body seemed like they were getting oil rotted.

all in all, it looks like a great deal in the photos, but i will tell you..... it is a pretty big project if you plan to get this rig up to decent standards.. I'm pretty picky but not horrible, so i know a lot of guys will feel the same way. he started dropping the price a good amount and i didn't take the deal, it is still for sale and I'm sure if someone was looking for a project, this would be a good truck to get if you have some time and about 10 cases of brake cleaner haha. rear bumper was nice on it, sliders seemed solid, motor had no blow by, tranny shifted good, nice speakers, and paint was pretty good...

whoever is serious about it, msg me and i can answer more questions you have.

I'm just trying to prevent someone wasting time and money like i did to go buy something they were expecting something completely different.
