I would be willing to trade my 80+cash for a 98-99 100 series.

I also added new photos to my album. Note they are not in chronological order.

I'd like to address the history. I bought the 80 from a lawyer in South Bend, IN. He bought it in 1996 with 30K miles for $36K according to the paperwork.

His maintenance from the paperwork I have:

6/2005: replaced front driveshaft U-joints
1/2008: replaced cap, rotor, wires, plugs at 161K miles
1/2008: new battery at 161K miles
3/2008: replaced EGR, cats, and exhaust system PLUS replaced front brake rotors/pads at 162K miles (I have $2500 receipt showing 1700 worth of parts as it failed emissions in Indiana - 1 of 2 counties that actually have testing) - No CEL's
7/2008: replaced rear shocks with KYB's at 166K miles
9/2008: replaced air intake tube
1/2010: replaced front tie rods and repacked wheel bearings at 175K miles
11/2010: coolant flush at 179K miles

Currently it has 1 stock passenger seat mounted as the rear heater must be removed and lines bypassed to install the Moab. That's a job I've been putting off to do the PHH at the same time.

I cannot tell whether the front axle has ever been rebuilt. It has no leakage around the seals, plus the old diff oil looked very good when replaced. All 3 diffs had fluid changes before me as the bolts were mangled up. Currently, the rear pinion seal developed a leak, which was partially fixed due to new diff breathers. The engine leaks 1/2 qt of oil in 3000 miles due to the front oil pump seal.

I've debated on keeping it for winter duty and occasional wheeling, but dates aren't too fond of it. My MR2 makes up for it, but obviously it's parked during winter. I've debated spending $1000 on new leather, but a 98+ cruiser seems more appealing, especially with my new job.

drove this truck, its nice

If anyone is serious about purchasing this truck please PM me and I will be happy to offer anything I know. I live in CT and was in IN on business and thought I MIGHT drive it back. If I were closer I might very well own it but rental return fee to different airport was $900! I was tired, etc, etc.

Most important to me is the owner seems to be very honest. Truck is in good, not excellent, but good shape and has fully functioning lockers. Had an idle issue when I drove it but did not appear to me to be a big deal - it never died just idled high or low almost the whole time. Photos maybe show the paint a little better than in person but truck presents very well from 10 feet. No rust of any note. A LOT of truck for $5k. david

Thanks David!

I'm having the same issue he had: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/509488-when-c-idle-wonky.html

Truck has zero problems unless the A/C is turned on. I found this out over summer when I used it for the first time. If it's off, zero problem. If it's turned on, it will stumble coming to stop at a light 400 rpms until it corrects itself. Never has died, even when David drove it.

Cold start idle is 1600 rpms, warm engine is 600. AC on idle is 800.

Now 4500. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep it for a winter and trail rig.

Bump for ya Brent, Nice rig, good thing you babied it when we went to the badlands. Any chance you want to swap rubber?

Sorry Lee, I want to keep the tires on the truck. It's a beast in the winter (severe snow rating).

If it doesn't sell soon, I'm ordering new leather for the seats and restoring the interior. It doesn't need much to go 250K miles.

bump, found the car I want to buy. priced to move: $4000 is the bottom line. if you bring a cashier's check for $4,000 you'll drive it home.

4k is a good price. With all that rust I wouldn't ask for more than that. Would make a perfect winter beater.

What's all the rust you're referring to? The frame has zero rust. The rear axle had surface rust, which was sanded and painted. The front axle is clean, except minor rust near the lower control arm towards the wheel. The only bad "rust" that you could refer is the passenger door, which I've pointed that out.

Show me a more rust free midwest 80 or 100 for sale, cause I'll buy it. I've seen a dozen land cruisers pre and post purchase, all with more rust on the axles and frame.

Sonofa....If you weren't 13 hours away from me I would bring you the money tonight. My fuel and hotel bill to get there and get it back will kill the great pricing you have. My family lives in IL but I don't know the next time I'll be there for a visit.

If you fly to the Indy airport, I will pick you up. You can drop me off at my apt and cruise home. No pun intended.

I have to say this is a nice truck for the price. I have seen them for much more money on Ebay and not as well optioned OR in as good of condition as this one is.

I wish I would have found this site, BEFORE I bought mine two weeks ago. :o

Here is an example of what you get for $2000 less, I know cause I bought it!! But I'm enjoying customizing it how I want. But this Indy truck would have been mine if I found it first!! You are only 2-2 1/2 hours from me!!:whoops:

Here is my poor Ugly Truck:

Toyota : Land Cruiser | eBay

Maybe If you keep it for a little while, I will fix mine up and sell it then buy yours.:D:D:D

Good luck on a Nice looking truck!!

Thanks hrlydavison! I've had a lot of interest, so I would not be suprised if it's sold by next weekend. If anyone books a flight, I will hold the truck for you (if it's in a reasonable time frame).

I was just saying if you still had it in the future like a month or two. Dont hold it on my account.

Besides after all the blood, sweat and tears spilled on my new one, I probably wont be able to part with it once I get it finished.

But as I said, It would have been mine, If I would have saw it first.

I just posted it for sale locally at $4500 as I bought this yesterday:
