There was a guy in Vegas last month with the EXACT same add, I mean all of the words were the exact same. I spoke with that guy though, and I'm sure it wasn't a scam. Leads me to believe this one is, or he bought it from the guy in Vegas and is just turning it around.

OK. I hope its not a scam. There seems to be a lot of scams lately for LC's. I wonder why.

I agree. It just struck me as strange that it was the EXACT, word for word description as the add in Vegas. Like I said, I spoke with the seller in Vegas for a while about his. Not a bad deal, but just more effort than I wanted to put into it. Needed a new radiator, the rear locker doesn't work, and bumpers both front and rear are dented. This also leads me to believe it's a scam because the pictures aren't the same, so the scammer probably grabbed a description that sounded good, and just some random pictures..
Yeah I talked to Highspeed about his LC too and he seems like a stand up dude. This other one must be a scam. I'm sure he'll chime in here though I do not know if he's on here much anymore.
I also spoke with him some time ago, nice guy.
I just got off the phone with Brian: he sold his already. He said that the text used in the Craigslist ad is almost verbatim to his original Craigslist ad, save the extra line at the bottom about a "hunting" vehicle.

The Texas ad is suspect, to say the least.
Hey everyone, I just got wind of this today. This ad is a copy of mine almost word for word so I would be very suspect if I were you.
It just so happens that I received a call about this as I was on my way home after dropping my 80 off at the shipper to a buyer in Wisconsin. So my rig is officially sold and not to anyone in TX.
I will attempt to find out who the person in TX is so nobody gets screwed. Thanks to all those who vouched for me!

Glad to know you got it sold, I almost bought your rig myself, but bought locally instead (no lockers).
quick update: called the TX seller number 214-793-9095 and the voice mail is a womans voice, "Heather". I left a message and will post up if they call me back.

She said she didn't know anything about the lockers and will go look for what I described. She offered to meet me for a test drive near her neighborhood "lower Greenville" or "North Park".
I asked if she has any experience selling out of state since I don't live in TX and she simply said "no" and didn't take advantage of my "bait" by telling me to send her money or anything like that.
She sounds like she might be cute so someone should go test drive that thing!

So, we were on the right track with the inclination that perhaps the seller simply copied the text from your ad, not knowing how to describe a Land Cruiser.
Still, I would be hesitant in a long-distant transaction, or even local, as I told you about my experience on the phone with a local seller.
Highspeed glad to see you got this taken care of bro. I dont know I'm still suspicious about this other persons ad. There have been alot of "Female" scam artists on CLit lately. Brian, I'm still pretty broken up from our earlier conversation I believe it will take some time to get over missing the boat on your LC

Hi guys, first post. Been lurking for a few weeks and am wanting to buy an 80. I might check it out this weekend. If I do, I will definitely post about it. Anything you want me to specifically verify other than lockers? Man I wish I had my tax rebate back...
