1993 fzj80 engine oil level

the manuel says 7.9 qts with oil filter i believe, i put 8 qts of oil and on dip stick level was just right(i let engine runn for about 2 mins before the oil change so hot oil can drain faster and more throughly) does this sound right? thanks

Either you're joking, or I don't follow the question. What'chu worried about here.. the tenth of a quart difference??? There's too many variables that could account for that. Amount of oil will vary some with size of oil filter too. Just follow the dipstick and keep it between the lines.

I usually put in 7.5 quarts, start up the engine, let it sit a bit, and fill up to the mark on the dipstick. With the big Toy filter, I usually put in just under 8 quarts.

The manual says 7.5 with filter change, but I use a "big" Toyota filter and add 8 quarts. It then reads full to 5 microns above full. I got some small Toyota filters to use, so I might go back to 7.5. Keep it full on the dipstick and don't worry about it.
