Hello all!! This is my freshly imported truck from the UAE! This adventure started when I sold my 2023 Toyota Camry XSE out of spite of them making me "subscribe" to certain features. This is my first experience with a JDM vehicle and I have some questions and concerns that I'm looking to iron out.

It has roughly 91,500 km on it.

I picked it up in Houston and immediately drove it home to Southwestern Missouri. It ran great all the way home despite it having sat somewhere for a long time prior to me getting it. All four tires on it were dry rotted when I got it.

I have a filter and some synthetic diesel oil by Mobil on the way already.

I just noticed it blowing some black smoke from the exhaust when I picked it up from the A/C guy today. It also has an oil leak. Very slow drip, however I looked under it today and it seems to be all over the oil pan. Further investigation to be done.

What would you guys check on? What would you do to it immediately to ensure everything is as it should be?

The oil leak and smoke have me concerned that all the gaskets could be bad as it seems it wasn't ran in a long time, and was immediately floored for 11 hours straight.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also please ask any questions you may have. I am brand new to this and am looking to learn all I can!

Thank you!!

Change fluids, including diff and transfer case. Grease all zerk points. double check radiator and fluid levels. Check belts and timing belt. Maybe pull glow plugs and they may tell you how much fouling it has. Black smoke can mean several things; improper tune, dirty injectors, consuming oil, etc. If the black smoke clears up right away, i wouldn't worry,

ALSO check front wheels for play. So you dont run into death wobble or wheel falling off down the road.

Congrats! i would do just all fluids filters and tires and drive it for a while and see what else it needs.
I have a filter on the way to change the oil. I'm getting ready to order a timing belt for it tonight to go ahead get that done too just in case. I'm not very mechanically inclined so naturally I buy a foreign vehicle to learn on. I'll order the filter and a few other things tonight! Thank you!

This is what I needed! Thank you. Need to make a list. lol

Congratulations on your purchase

My advice is to do a big service, because you don't know the life and the Service History of this vehicle, specially coming from abroad.

- Oil Engine + Oil Filter
- Timming-Belt + Water Pump
- Air-Filter
- Diesel Filter
- Transmission Oil
- Transfer Case Oil
- Diff's Oil
- Brake Fluid
- Coolant
- Service Belts (Alternator, Fan, A/C)

Check wheels play, Cardan Rear Drive Shaft play, Radiator Hoses, Front and Rear brakes.

As the AC/DC song says: "It's a Long Way to the Top If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll" :steer:

Thank you. It's so much fun to drive. I just got the oil and filter today. I have a timing belt kit with cam and crank seals in it, air filter, fuel filter, and one of the belts on the way. I'm also gonna change out the coolant tomorrow as well. A long way to the top indeed friend.
