Any body know anything about these trucks? I was thinking of trading my bj60 for it.

Isuzu elf import

Elf was a name given to all the Isuzu N series trucks for a while.

That one looks like a non turbo 4JB1 motor. You could confirm with chassis numbers. Usually stamped on a plate inside the front passengers door.
It'll be slow and noisey. But reasonably good on fuel.

I wonder how easy it would be to but in a dually rear end, a transfer case and a front axle. It has leaf springs up front. I might have to go divorced T-case.

Isuzu made 4wd versions, they can be found as used japanese imports. Later ones went IFS and so 4wd but low ride height.

4 wheel drive versions probably cost $$$$$ so doing it myself would be that much more fun and cool.

plenty of nice Toyota Dynas or ToyoAces pop up if you want to keep it toyota. same thing different badge and slightly better engines.

The Toyoaces had far worse engines. Isuzu 4JB1 is better than all the toyota L family diesels. Check the Dyna's have the direct injection diesels.

They are usually cheap. Once the govt and utility companies have finished with them, there is not that much of a market for them. Their height , weight and pay load doesn't make them viable for deliveries. Although there was someone using a 4wd JDM truck for meat deliveries around here a few years back.
The 4wd trucks usually have very low klms.

The guy said he would trade it for my extra bj60 if it doesn't sell. He wants $3500. I have my cruiser up for sale for $4500 but I think I still might trade? As long as it's a good runner.

Time to turbo
