The problem is when the handbrake is disabled, the warning light comes on with a dim light, and when the handbrake is applied, the warning light comes on with a strong light. The brake fluid has been checked. Is the problem with the Vacuum warning?🤔

Hello,

Your brake circuit needs a check. Your rotors need a check (and maybe replacement) as well.

Hope this helps.

Salaam my friend:

Your brake master cylinder or booster is probably going bad. I had this showing up on my 1995 FZJ75 and now that I have replaced both of those the light went away.

Or your load proportioning sensing valve (LPSV) needs to be adjusted. Do you have a lift kit?

I would start with the master cylinder.

Man if I could read I would be very upset right now

I am not sure if I understand what you meant exactly, but if the photo provided was too blurry, my apologies. It was just a snapshot from the big file on cruiser cult site.

It is a joke that implies I cannot read, hence I was driving with my parking brake light on with a gasoline engine and my brake booster was bad (despite it saying it is very dangerous to do so).

No wonder my brakes have sucked for a while.

Appreciate you very much putting this on this page, should answer OP's question!

Maybe it is me that needs reading lessons. Haha.

I find that the owners manual does answers a lot of basic questions but some of the answers are pretty ambiguous too.

Hello,

At first sight, your image looks blurry.

On a closer look, the text is readable.

You may want to magnify it (using your browser's Magnify Image function or an equivalent tool) to make it even more readable.

There is no problem with reading it.

-The master cylinder was repaired about two years ago and when I repaired it I heard a hissing sound when I turned off the engine.

-As for the brake booster,
- I turned off the engine and pressed it several times and pressed it gently one last time and started the engine and my foot slipped inward a little.
-Does this indicate that the brake booster is in good condition or not?

- The brake fluid is old and needs to be changed. It may also need to release the air trapped inside the brake system.
-Are these the reasons for the brake warning light?

Hello,

It is usually the cylinders on the rear axle that fail and need replacement. Provided that you have rear drum brakes.

With the engine off, press the brake pedal three or four times. If the pedal becomes hard to press, your booster is working properly. The pedal becomes softer once you turn the engine on. So yes, your booster is in good shape.

Your rotors may need replacement. In old age, they lose thickness and get warped. As a result, the calipers cannot press the pads uniformly. This condition causes the brake light to turn on.

Old brake fluid can be contaminated, degraded, or both. It does not transmit force efficiently.

Check your cylinders (if you have rear drum brakes,) your rotors and your brake circuit. Replace as necessary.

Hello Juan

-Yes, I have drum rear brakes. The problem could be in the rear drums, the brake fluid, and the rotors, but with a weak probability, because I think that the rear brakes sometimes work very well, and most of the time they do not work well, even on slippery ground.

-They also work well if I press the brakes hard and pull the handbrake at the same time, the four tires stop together.

-As for the brake rotors, I will maintain them by measuring their thickness and wiping them until their surface becomes rough. When the car was with my father and grandfather, they did not change the brake fluid, but added brake fluid if it was less than the normal level, and I decided to change the brake fluid and remove the trapped air inside the system and clean the parts of the rear drums, such as the steering wheel fluid.

- It was old and contaminated, so I changed it and cleaned the system. It has not been about three months now, and now the fluid is leaking, and they have not maintained the steering wheel before, and because of the dirt accumulating inside the steering wheel, there was no leakage.
