Hi all. I've got a 1991 3FE Land Cruiser and I recently replaced the fan shroud with a new OEM one. The fan will tap against the shroud every once in a while.

I took a look around and I've got a decent sized gap on the driver's side where the fan shroud meets the radiator. Does the fan shroud need to sit below the edges of the upper tank of the radiator? I noticed that the fan shroud had rubber/plastic covers on the bottom tabs. I wasn't sure if they needed to be removed before install and if they were causing my fan shroud to sit higher than normal.

I don't know on a 3fe, but on a 1fz there is a tab on either end the fan shroud at the bottom that sits in a corresponding slot. The driver side slot is harder to seat correctly due to transmission hoses etc that are in the way. My guess is that something isn't seated correctly. I don't think there should be a gap.
