1990 FJ62

Been thinking about doing this for a few months and I guess it's time. I still can't believe I am doing this............

Tastefully built: 5 speed, 2.5 inch lift, beefed up suspension, headers, ARB, step bars, rear bar bumper, engine rebuilt at 200k, 220k now and runs perfect! Almost no rust on the truck and clean under the hood. Small oil leak, a dime on the drive after driving and that comes and goes. Only car to start when it was 23 below zero, pretty impressive actually. Normal tear in the driver seat, rest is is great shape. Clean in and out. Very nice truck! Hate to sell but I really don’t drive it, 3000 miles in the last 12 months. Just sits in the garage most of the time. No games, nice truck.

$7500 obo. I will sell to whomever but this is really not a wheeling truck, more of a piece of tradition or a casual driver. Truck can be wheeled or a daily driver with no problems, but a bit too nice to wear out. JMO

Pics can be seen at www.CarmelMortgage.com then go into for sale. It is also in a video on the Hoosier Mini Truck website of it climbing my driveway in the snow at the end of the vid.

wish my 62 looked like that..

Thanks for the compliment! The truck nice, nicer than the pics actually. Drives even better than it looks. A guy emailed me yesterday and asked if it could make it to Montana from Indianapolis . I answered yes but I don't think he believes me. But I am sure it would go there and back several times!

Wish someone would buy it before I change my mind!:steer: My wife said that. She wants it out of the garage.

I wish I could buy it. I got a super clean 91 80 if you were looking for trades. When I was looking for another 60 series there where none to be had and now they are all over the place.

Price reduced

I have had a lot of contacts but no buyers.......economy. Truck is an $8k truck considering the condition and 5 speed. NICE truck! Not sure if I'm selling you or me!:bang: But for now I am willing to sell but can't give it away.

Just detailed it too, looks awesome!

Reduced to $6900

Still avail

What are your thoughts on getting this truck to northern va.?

Thanks, it is really nice! It does have air and it's ICE COLD! No kidding, keeps you as cool as any vehicle I have ever had.

Rust. It was a southern truck so it has dodged most winters. Here in Indy it really doesn't snow a bunch and they use a mix of salt and sand for ice. When it gets bad I drive my excursion so the truck mainly just sits in the garage. It does have a few spots but nothing major like most of the 60 series.

As for Virginia, it would make there several times if I understand your question. If you mean logistics I would say maybe catch a flight to Indianapolis and drive it back or maybe catch a bus and do the same. I would pick you up at whichever. It could probably be delivered but I have no idea the costs associated with it.

I just detailed it and I am having second throughts:steer: Save me from myself and my wife! If the truck stays I will never get laid again :censor:

Show me some pictures of the rust.
What kind of gas mileage are you getting with this truck.
Who did the five speed conversion?
Any idea where the oil drip is coming from?

Looks like a nice truck

Thanks John

Wife took the camera to baseball awards so I won't be able to score more pics today. If you look in some of the new pics (29 total) I just put on our website you can see the spots. 1 is on the left rear bumper, 2 is where the trim used to be behind right front tire, 3 is inside the lip on the hood, 4 is rear hatch button but only the button not the truck. There is a little underneith but nothing like most. Matter of fact not even close to most. I was going to coat the underneith before winter so whomever buys make a not to self.

5 speed I can't remember, done in Tenn. Smooth shifting, strong clutch, very short 1st. 65mph rpm is 2800-3000. My FJ60 ran at 3300rmp at 55mph. This is very nicely done.

Gas Mileage it gets between 13-15. Lot's of power with the headers. Not steller but good for a cruiser.

Oil drip seams to be coming from rear main. I don't know for sure but that is what I was told by cruiser guys and fits the habit most have. This comes and goes so I have never worried about it. Everything else is great.

One question no one has asked is the hubs. They are free and lock in and out without sticking or force.

Also with the rear suspension upgrade the truck doesn't feel like it is tipping over when corning. This was important to me.

I can not believe no one has grabbed your truck. If I were in the market, I'd have snagged it. That is a beautiful 62, hope it gets taken care of as well as it has been.

good luck. and I'm kicking myself too.
