This is my wifes Cruiser, she bought it 8 years ago and has been daily driving it ever since. Always garage kept. Very reliable. Has around 206,000 miles.
The good:
Runs great, drives great.
New shocks
New brakes
Front axle rebuilt last year
New plugs, wires, cap, rotor.
New muffler
No check engine light, or any other indicators.
Interior is in almost mint condition aside from a tear in the drivers seat. The tear was there when she got it and she has had seat covers on it ever since.
Good tires 31x10.50
NOT ONE DENT OR DING.
The paint is perfect, no fading, she always washed and waxed it religiously.
Frame is very solid! Still has factory paint over most of it and the floor boards are perfect.
Everything works.
The “not so good”
-Has some rust beginning in the usual spots. Has advanced rust in the passenger rear door and lift gate. I have a rust free lift gate and pass rear door for it. But they are red and from a fj60. So they need paint and the power window stuff transferred over.
-Sometimes I notice a spot of coolant on the floor in the garage. It has been doing this for about a year. I suspect the radiator. It looks like there may be a pin hole in the top. I have a good radiator for it in the attic.
-If you fill the gas tank to the top you can smell fuel, though I cant find any fuel leaking. I remember there being a recall on the gas tank for a seal. I called the dealership and they said the recall has not been done for this vehicle and they would do it. My wife has been fine with just not filling it to the top for the past few years.
-Has a couple small exhaust leaks under the drivers feet. When I replaced the muffler I planned to replace the tailpipe, so I left it out so I could take it to an exhaust shop to replicate, but I haven’t gotten around to it, you are welcome to the old pipe.
