Replaced the o-ring on the distributor after impressive oil leak. When I put the distributor back int the housing, I thought I put in exactly as it came out. Nope. No start. Used the FSM to address top dead center. Installed and now it starts and runs but I can not get timing below about 21 degrees. Thought seven to fourteen was normal. Don't know how to disconnect the advance because there is no wire under the center console based on google/youtube search. Obviously I am missing something. Would like to keep my $$ and not have the mechanic refer to me for years to come as "that guy" related to such a simple fix.

Became that guy. One tooth off per the mechanic I paid a lot of money to. Still have the leak...
