For Sale - 1988 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD Manual Transmission $6000
Located in Central New Mexico (closest large city is Albuquerque, about 2.5 hours from me)

I've owned this truck since 2000, I got it right after I graduated from high school. However, it has come time to sell it. I'm doing a complete restore on a 1970 International Travelall to become my new trail/winter vehicle. I've needed something larger for me and my family to go out on trails. The 4Runner is just too small for all of us to camp in comfortably. Because of our new truck, I no longer have garage space for the 4Runner. With where I live, it would be heartbreaking to see this great truck be taken over by nature if left outside in the elements any longer. I would rather someone else to have the opportunity to continue this truck's adventures. This truck has taken me down some of the greatest trails the Southwest has to offer.

To the best of my knowledge this truck has always been in New Mexico. It has been my daily driver for many years and has slowly become my trail vehicle, minus some daily driving in the winters when we've had snow/ice on the roads. When I purchased this vehicle it was 100% stock from an employee at Sandia Labs in Albuquerque. All of the modifications I have done myself over the years.

THE GOOD:
-Original Toyota 3VZE Engine (only in 1988 did Toyota put asbestos head gaskets on this engine. In 1989 they changed this, and started having head gasket failures, hence this engine has the desirable asbestos head gasket) It currently has 291,xxx miles and is still going strong
-Engine oil changed every 3000 miles (I'm religious about this)
-This truck has never left me stranded or stuck. I've always been the guy winching everyone else out. In fact, I've only used the winch once for myself.

THE BAD:
-A/C currently does not work. I've rarely needed it with where I live, so when it needed maintenance years ago, I disconnected the belt so the compressor wouldn't spin. It has been like this for years, so would probably need some work to get it going again.
-Damage/Rust on the passenger side front and rear quarter panels. This happened a few years back in a rocky creek bed. The truck went through just fine in one direction....coming back...I had a clearance issue and these scrapes resulted from it. Sadly, rust has eaten through the rear quarter panel.
-Needs a new radio antennae, this was also damaged in the rocky creek bed. I removed the damaged antennae. Good news is, the CD player works great!
-Standard wear and tear in the interior for a vehicle of this age. Vinyl/plastic cracked in some areas and a tear in the front seat fabric from all the ins/outs over the years.
-When running these large tires, there is a slight shimmy in the steering around 35-40 mph. I used to run a smaller pair of tires for daily driving, and the problem was non-existent with them. The larger tires are tricky to balance and cause this issue.

I have tried to list everything I can think of about this truck so you'll know exactly what to expect. Please, if you have ANY questions, let me know. No trades. Cash only. Clean title. Sold as-is.
