I'm selling my 1988 FJ62 with ~222,000 miles. I originally purchased the vehicle in 2016 from Washington state and, before that, the vehicle was owned by an individual in Colorado. The vehicle is in fantastic shape, both mechanically and cosmetically. It has the occasional chipped pain here or there, but there are no dents and no body damage. Mechanically the vehicle has no problems - a couple of drops of oil have dripped where I have it parked but other than that there are no mechanical flaws. It was in great condition when I purchased it and I've put in over $4,000 into it (I had to rebuild the air conditioning and replace the brakes/brake pads). I have never off-roaded it, though it comes with all the off-road goodies. ARB bull bar, Warn winch, KC headlights, Kargo Kraft roof rack. The vehicle has been smogged through 2018, though it is being sold AS IS (It passed smog more than 90 days ago). Old man emu suspension, 4 new pro comp wheels and new BFG KO2 A/T 315x70x17 tires. It was repainted in its original color approximately 2 years ago. It has a custom stereo deck but I also have the original cassette deck. As you can see from the pictures, there's a small bit of surface rust on the undercarriage but nothing major. The only two negatives with this vehicle are the inability to roll the passenger window down reliably (you have to fiddle/jam with the switch...but it does work), and the inability to unlock the back hatch from the outside (it locks and unlocks, but only from the inside). Neither of these two issues were that big of a deal for me so I never bothered to fix them.
I have taken this vehicle to Jackson Hole in a single day (17 hours), Eastern Utah in a single day (16 hours), and multiple trips to Joshua Tree and Yosemite. I've never broken down and never had any mechanical problems with the vehicle.
I listed the vehicle on this site last year and got a couple of interested buyers but couldn't agree to an offer. I met up with a poster at 4x4 TLC Cruisers who drove it and can vouch for its quality (if he sees this post). I'm selling because this car sits parked on the street 99% of the time - it's too large to park in my building and I just don't drive it enough on the weekend - I'd prefer to sell it to someone who is actually going to use it.
I'm asking $15,500. I have title in hand. I can usually only meet up on Saturdays/Sundays for test drives, given my work schedule. Located in Santa Monica. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
