This really pains me to do this but i'm going to need something that's more suited for longer drives.

Purchased this truck from another MUD member (@88red) and he did the LS swap along with restoring the frame. You can view his excellent work here:

...and here's what was done to the frame:
Frame was thoroughly cleaned, primed and painted. The notorious rear c-channels replaced, and rust on the rear cross member was cut out and new steel welded. No other significant frame rust or damage is present.

Now, I know what you're thinking. You're rubbing eyes and they're making that err-eah err-eah noise because you can't believe what you're witnessing. There is a few issues with the truck but they're all cosmetic:

  • The truck needs a paint job. Various work that has been done to the car makes it's so the paint doesn't match 100%. It still shows really well but when you get up close, it needs work.
  • @AJR (thank you, again) did a TON of rust repair/body work on the truck (floor panels, rear cargo windows and more) and i'm not aware of anything further on the body... but there is still some more rust work that needs to be done. The driver side door has some rust on the bottom right.
  • Headliner needs replaced... no major rips, it's just dirty.

This is a really sweet 62, your description doesn't do it justice. I hate to see it for sale, someone is going to get an awesome deal. If anyone reading this is looking for a rig like this, you need to see it.

driver side door has some rust on the bottom right.
Was this not fixed by the member who did the rust repair because you guys ran out of steam? Or is it too hard to fix? Or did it pop up since the other rust was repaired?
Also what does
mild rebuild
On the engine mean?
Thanks

door rust hasn't been taken care mainly just money and time. @AJR was a kind soul and just redid my back hatch. only thing that needs to be done at this point is the door.

mild rebuild might be the wrong wording but head gasket replaced along with head bolts, lifters, lifter trays and associated parts. the LS had the original graphite head gasket on it and was replaced with MLS
