Need some advice...

'88 4Runner w/ a blown 3.0 in front of a 5-speed. Don't want to put it back in.

Anybody know what will bolt in (plug & play)? 22RE? 3rz(2.7)? Also considering a GM 4.3.

Open to tranny swap as well, but honestly, want to keep it simple.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Kev,

I started looking at TTORA but no good swap threads. Pirate was next. I've never seen YotaTech.

Call me if you need that d-shaft...

Hmmm another v6 3.0 that died. Whoulda thunk it?

Good luck. I've seen a lot of good info about the 3rz 2.7L if it bolts right up get the ECU and Bob's your uncle... We need to see pics etc when it's done!

The 2.7L is also a good swap. From my research they take about the same $$$ and work, so I would opt for the extra 40hp and 40ftlb of the 3.4L? They are both darn good motors that are capable of taking a beating.

A guy on AZTTORA just posted a link to a local 97 4Runner that was rolled... asking $650 for the entire truck. Good donor engine: 3.4 with a 5 spd (and elocker)

Thanks for the heads up!

Kavik,

The 3.4 would be the easiest for "bolt up" but the electrical might be interesting?

My 4.3 might be for sale? Depending on your time frame? Considering a couple more cylinders for mine. :bounce:
