Hi,

My LC started doing this the past couple times I have gotten gas. If I had to guess, I'd say the charcoal canister is filling up with fuel when I get gas, causing a super rich condition and stalling. Once the engine sucks all the gas out of the canister, it runs fine. FYI - I do not fill the tank past about 2/3 full when I get gas.

Is there a check valve or something on the fuel tank that is getting stuck? The truck has a replacement AC Delco charcoal canister. Maybe that's the issue?

Did a search and got nothing. Thanks to mudders for any info to help point a fella in the right direction.

Kind of sounds like vapor lock to me, though it hasn't been that hot.

When the truck won't start, remove the gas cap and see if you get a 'woosh' from a build up of pressure, then try starting. Also, check the sight-glass in the carburetor to see if there's gas present or even if it's boiling.

Is your carb-fan working?

So Cal RFG gas is crap and doesn't do well in carburetors. Particularly if you fill with gas that's 10% EtOh

Carb fan works fine. Only happens when I get gas, so no whoosh since the cap was off to get the nozzle in. No whoosh from the cap when it’s taken off before the nozzle goes in. I will double check this today, though. Doesn’t happen any other time, only when I get gas.
