I’m listing my 1987 fj60 landcruiser project for sale as is. There’s a vacuum leak somewhere either in the gasket inbetween the manifold and head or the j- pipe. Maybe both. We’ve tried a second manifold gasket and a different j-pipe. I’m out of patience and have another project lined up. I’m asking $11k. If I don’t get any takers, eventually I’ll get to it and get it running. It’s rust free. Has some sheet metal damage on the fenders. Previous owner said the doors were left open in a wind storm. See picts in the link
Here’s a list of things I’ve done that I can recall at the moment.
Fuel tank cleaned
Down tubes and sending unit replaced.
Hard lines soaked and blown out.
All rubber lines replaced.
Oil cooler flushed out and painted.
All new coolant lines replaced for the most part.
Radiator restored
“Denso family” alternator
Smog pump via west side landcruiser (used)
Cleaned out power steering pump and replaced a couple gaskets.
Carb rebuild by mattresking
Head rebuilt and manifold milled by Martin Davidson in reseda
Radio works. It grabs a couple static fm stations but the antenna is broken.
Carb cooling fan ran when I brought it home and fired it up before tear down. Ac compressor turned on. Heat doesn’t blow. Driver side seat has a small tear in the vinyl. Rear bench has a rip. Headliner is clean.
I can’t find in any real rust. It lived in Lancaster desert all it’s life. Sat there since 2005. The registration is current, non-op in my name.
Once running it would really only need tires, dash cap, carpet kit and the seats to be cleaned and it would be a good driver.
