Just like the title states, I am looking for a 1986 to 1987 Toyota Pickup R151F Turbo transmission. These are unique to the 1986 - 1987 Turbo Pickup models.

The bellhousing adapts a 22R(E) engine to an R15X series transmission. And the tailhousing adapts the Toytoa RF1A gear-driven transfer case to an R15X series transmission.

TIA!

I think you just missed a complete one in Dallas on here.

But Marlin has 4 bellhousings available.

Oops! That’s my luck.

I’ve decided to buy a complete transmission. Probably grabbing one from CA. But if you know of one in Texas, lemme know.

Thx!

hi will ,

what's all the show pony TECH. on the koolness factor of having the bell housing and tail from a 22R-TE ?

R151F Turbo trans with dual RF1A 23-spline t-cases would be a perfect match to a 1KZ-T diesel engine.

Wouldn't the bellhousing be the R x KZ and not R x 22R?

Devils Advocate. The ECO crawler is the superior dual case to the Marlin crawler. So might be better to have the VF tailhousing on the transmission.

As I mentioned above, I decided to try and find a complete transmission, not just the bellhousing and tailhousing.

The bellhousing (with the drain plug) is an easy way to correctly identify the turbo transmissions. Lots of people are trying to sell me an R150 from a 3VZ or Tacoma. Or a R151 from a Land Cruiser. Not the correct R151F Turbo trans that will directly accept the RF1A gear-driven transfer case (or crawl box).

The 1KZ manual bell housing will swap to any R series transmission (including the R151F Turbo trans).

The 1KZ is also commonly available as engine/trans/t-case combo on EBay.

For the Marlin dual case, I prefer the simplicity and pedigree of the Marlin setup.

Hope that all makes sense.
