"... a conclusion most had come to already." @joelikessno , what's your/everyone's conclusion?

@Toyvay - I thought we were done all this bickering. I have better things to do, like, find my wife a FJ62 with less than 200,000 miles.

Let's just leave it at your "okey dokey."

@joelikessno I wasn't bickering, I really thought everyone had come to the conclusion that this vehicle was hoax. I mean pretty much everyone found something fishy with every element. So when people add to the thread asking what happened, I don't know the appropriate response. Will leave it at okey dokey, and good luck with finding the 62 for your wife.

I think it exist, it's not a hoak, just a shady 70 series with a questionable history. It's about as legit as a 1994 70 series can get in the USA.....;)

For sure. This thing definitely exists. Unfortunately, "shady" is the perfect adjective to use on the Troopy. The seller has, roughly, three more years to keep this sitting in his/her garage, although it's a great conversation piece at the moment. I'd consider this an unplanned, long-term investment for the seller.

So it's a vehicle that's actually 9 years newer than advertised, mislabeled, it's in the US imported by either someone/group that doesn't exist or had their ability to import revoked, and originated as a japanese direct made for American embassy in Russia left hand drive made with lots of columbian parts. It was sold on ebay without regard to the sequential nature of time. All of which now I understand.
I don't know why I stubbornly hung on to the idea it was a picture grabbed from another country, with a wild story attached. Definitely shady, that vehicle, as you described could only be in the US illegally.

if you look at the dash, you will see a badge that says "Property Of the US Peace Corp"(and some ID #) now this may just be an attempt by someone to make the "story" sound more legit...

the Columbian parts can be possibly explained by the location of Florida...and the seller looks to import others from that area, so using those parts make since. It looks to me(from the objects in the background) like the body and paint work being done is actaully in the US of A

nevermind..........;)

Just to keep the story updated...

This truck has popped up on Facebook and a eBay a few times and was recently sold to a guy in Salt Lake City.
