Help!! If someone knows h55s... trans won’t shift into 5th. Every other gear feels great and shifts smooth but you get to 5th and it’s a brick wall. I pulled the 5th gear extension and resealed, but put the faith gear fork back in place and reinstalled my detent ball on the side. This is a new h55. I have never done this before and could very likely have screwed the pooch. Any help would be appreciated. I’m dreading pulling all this out....
So, @wngrog and I tackle this job today with some help from @USMC22. I am solely responsible for the rebuild and mating of the split. Everything went off with no problems except the above.....they also installed some iron man foam cell pros for me while I was messing with trans and tcase. They are amazing.
Don’t y’all think he can raise this thing back up on my lift and rebuild it while keeping the whole thing stabbed into the motor?
Trying to find a bright side here ......

That's why i shift them on the workbench after the first half of the split case is installed to hold the 5th-gear housing tight. Did you remove the 5th gear housing to put sealant on the gasket? It sounds like you don't have the lever installed right. It can be kinda tricky
sure you could but why would you do that instead of dropping it out and doing it on the workbench?
I did remove for sealant. Swore the 5th gear fork was slid in correctly. This is my first one guess you live and learn. Doesn’t look like there’s an easy fix here.
I guess i just don't see pulling an H55f out and in as a big deal. especially when you have that nice lift and jack.
I've messed this up too I just check it before I assemble the splitcase.
