1985 BJ75 3B won't shut off

I turned the key off but engine stays on, tuned it off by putting it in gear, the red battery and red brake lights in dashboard stay on, came back to it two days later, batteries were drained, charged batteries, fired right up, but still won't shut off. All suggestions greatly appreciated, thank you

I have very little mechanical knowledge. Should I look at the fuse box under the steering wheel? Thank you

Coming off the battery positive should be a couple connectors, do they look scorched or burnt thru?

I checked the cables from both batteries (24v) and can't find any burned wires. Did not smell anything the other day or today while the engine was on or off. One mystery is that the stereo does not turn on.... thanks

Check your edic circuit? This is what shuts your engine.

You should be able to turn the engine off by shifting the EDIC lever to off. Its on the injection pump.

Download or buy a manual. The FSM has a troubleshooter.

Checked the mechanism of the EDIC and it works when I turn the key, but it does not when I shot it off. How do I check the circuit? thank you

Not sure if is same as 13B-T, got very little knowledge on Diesels , thank you

Was able to turn it off by manually pulling the lever on the EDIC arm, but once off, the two red lights in the dashboard remain on even when removing the key. Think its an electrical issue, not mechanical, perhaps the key ignition switch or?

It will probably be the gadget at the other end of the EDIC arm. I think you take the lid off and look for burnt pieces
