I have a 1985 60 series. I just bought some new BFG 33X10.50 R15 tires. I still want my cruiser to ride close to the same, and also not looked too jacked. I was thinking of getting some OME 2" dakar soft-medium springs and OME shocks. What do you guys recommend for what I am trying to achieve? Basically I just want the height so I can put on these new tires.......Thanks

I have some old 3" OME on mine and I love the ride. I have some shackles which give me another inch and have bfg A/T 33x10.5 on stock rims. I believe you will have more than enough room. People more knowledgable than me will chime in and let you know.

My 60 has 33x10.50R15's on it and a 3" OME lift. It's got a great ride but it does look rather tall in my opinion. If you want an idea, check out the silver Cruiser thread.

Depending on spring sag you might be able to run 33's on the stock susp. I know on one of my 60's (Brand new 60)in the late 80ies I ran 33's with just a little rub at max articulation. So your idea should work OK..:D

Call ARB in Seattle and walk them through your intended use scenario for your truck. They know their product and can make well informed recommendations on spring/shock combos based on your needs.

Personal experience with OME product would be to suggest going with a Medium duty setup or a Heavy duty setup if you are planning on carrying any kind of load. The Light duty setup just didn't fair well in my case - your needs and use may be different.

I was runnin bfg 33x10.50 15' at's on American Racing Teflon Chambers. I think the suspension was stock with long add a leaves. Not sure though as I bought the truck used. I'm pretty sure there was an extra leaf peaking though. I really didn't have too many issues with it that way unless it was loaded down with 300-400lbs worth of work gear, tools, recovery stuff plus 2 spare tires. Putting AAL's on is really not that hard or whole spring packs for that matter. I had this one done b/c of time constraints but even if you're only a little handy with a wrench you should still be able to handle either one. The first pic is a poser shot when I first got my new wheels I'm pretty sure I had it loaded( I used to try to keep the load low thats why you can't see anything) the second is right before I had the Alcans put on (unloaded). The drivers side always seems to sit a tad lower but keep in mind it has a bunch of junk in it in the pict. As for the old man emu I don't think it would make your truck to jacked looking. Like dogboy said, call arb. They seem to know their stuff pretty darned good.

33x10.50s here too, with an OME lift.

Rides nice and I think the height is perfect.

Little low in these shots since I run about 12psi on the beach.
