This is the Runner with the solid front axle, fuel-injected 4-cylinder engine, manual transmission, and the removable top. It has 4WD, 17" alloy rims, new 31" all-terrain tires, a fitted Marlin Crawler steel-tube rear bumper (gives the rear end a higher profile and superb protection), a 1987 4Runner block-lifted rear-end (drums are bigger & more powerful than stock, rear-end is 3 inches wider, and the front-end has two 1.5 inch spacers to compensate), a new water pump, new radiator, new cat, recently cleaned injectors, and the K&N fuel injection performance kit. Front drive axle was completely rebuilt at Austin Drive Train when I first got the truck.

I'M SELLING THIS OLDER TRUCK AS-IS (250,000+ miles). The seals on each steering knuckle need replacing. The kit for that will be included in the sale. It has an extremely slow brake line leak which has given me no problems, other than the small hassle involved with adding brake fluid to the reservoir every once in a while. Although I charged the a/c myself, it has no power due to old wiring, I assume. As is common with these trucks, the rear window switch stopped working, so I have rigged the window up to a battery I keep in the back. A few days ago the hazard light switch quit working. It starts every time, but when the engine is cold it takes a couple tries.

Other than because of these relatively simple and inexpensively addressable issues, this is a highly desirable 4Runner. Not only is it the Runner sought after in rock-crawling circles due to the fact that it has the solid front axle AND fuel injection, next year it will be considered a classic, making the emissions test unnecessary. Even with the small amount of modifications I've made to it, it is a VERY capable off-roader and has never let me down. I am highly disappointed that I must let it go and know that I will regret selling it for years to come, but it is just too impractical for me now that I have two kids and work a dead-end security job in Round Rock, TX. I'm asking $2000 for it.

I have many pictures and a digital camera, so if you want to see something, let me know!
