Well, it has come time to part with the Land Cruiser we acquired a few years ago. We have too many collector vehicles and some need to go. The 60 just doesn't get driven much any more.
We purchased the car from CO Springs area from the brother of an 11 year owner. The rig spent most of its years as a New Mexico ranch truck owned by a fairly well known guy in the equestrian world. I'll try to locate that history the PO sent to me. I think that fellow owned the rig for 24 years and it was sold to one of his ranch hands (if I remember correctly) who used it as a hunting truck. That is why is has such low miles. I have been all over this rig looking for rust and there is not a spot to be found. It has its share of "bumps and bruises" so far from perfect, but it just adds to its charm. Looking it over closely these past years, I am amazed that all the hardware still exhibits its yellow zinc plating with not corrosion. All the trim pieces are there and in great shape. It has the original radio, untracked dash, and the little lamp for the engine compartment. Also, I have a couple factory manuals for it as well. Just shows that it was a cared for truck. Really a great rig that is darn straight. There is a dent under the driver's door in the rocker and one in the right rear corner. Easily fixable, I just didn't bother - part of the story.
I'll add a link to a thread I started about the truck that documents a lot of the work I have done to it. Prior to us getting it, the PO had new front seat covers installed from one of the suppliers here, Cruiser Outfitters I think. Also, he had the LC outfit Classic Cruisers in Poncho Springs, CO go through it and inspect, change fluids, and install a 2.5" OME lift kit. He also had 33" tires installed at that time. Happy to discuss this in more detail and just want to offer it to this enthusiast group before I go the BaT route. Asking $27,500.
Here are some photos to get started. Interior pics to follow.
