I have a 1983 toyota fj60 landcruiser with 148,000 miles. 3.5" old man emu lift. Aussie locker in rear. custom front and rear steel bumpers with tire carrier, and side rock sliders. custom aluminum roof rack wired with hella lights and rear trail lights. 31" Kuhmo a/t with about 7,000 miles on them. tread almost like new. easily fits 33" super swampers "previous tires". rebuilt birfields front and rear axles and brakes. new alternator, starter, battery, transmission mount. paint job is very utilitarian, dark primer grey w truck bed liner from middle of doors down. interior in decent shape.
truck runs but carb needs rebuild, rough idling. truck has been desmogged and has a weber carb on it now. radiator has a patch that i put on the trail 2 yrs ago and is still holding but should be replaced for serious offroading. right rear wheel slightly bent, caused axle seal leaking and that brake drum needs new pads due to grease. was quoted $400 for parts and labor by mechanic but is easy to replace with some mechanical skills. engine and tranny have leaks but not worth fixing in my opinion, leaks haven't increased in 2 years of ownership. ac cold when charged but has leak somewhere that i couldn't find. 4 windows is good enough for me. minor rust, mainly the bottom rear tailgate.
This truck really is a beast in offroad conditions and performs incredibly in snow or sand. I am in a tight spot and have to let her go. I love this truck and it has provided many great outdoor experiences to me. With the right amount of work and care this can be a top trail rig like it was meant to be. i just dont have the time or money to complete restoration.
