Hello IH8Mud Community!

I am selling my 1983 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser, which I bought a little less than a year-and-a-half ago in Texas. Since then, she's made a couple of great trips with us, from the Outer Banks on down the Pan-American Highway to Colombia. Sadly it has come time to let her go, mainly because my girlfriend and I just purchased a great FJ Cruiser for the next phase of our adventures.

The FJ60 has a fuel injected Chevy 350 with an automatic transmission. A small exhaust manifold fire put a damper on our Pan American trip last year, but also forced us to do a good bit of work on the rig. We re-wired the fuel injection and ignition systems, as well as rebuilt the alternator. While in the shop, we replaced the portion of exhaust piping connecting the headers to the tailpipe. We also completely rebuilt the brake system, with new brakes, lines and master cylinder. Suspension and steering bushings were replaced at the time too. The only remaining sign of the fire is the dipstick cap, where the plastic had been scorched. The truck has around 176,000 miles, with about 55,000 on the engine. Since repairing the truck and shipping her back to the states, she's been driven all around the SE from FL to Georgia, on over to Mississippi. She's back in St. Petersburg now ready for someone to take her on her next adventure.

We built a platform in the back to serve as a bunk when camping out of the truck. This doubles over as a great security divider, providing a lot of room for secure storage underneath. Two toolboxes have been bolted down to the platform, providing additional lockable storage that is a little easier to access on the go. On the interior we also have a steel center console lockbox as well as dash-mounted stereo.

On the exterior, we've got an ARB front bumper, with an 8,000 lb. Smittybuilt winch; two KC lights mounted on the forward bumper as well. The truck has a Defender Roof Rack on top, covering pretty much the entire thing. It's a great rack that we had loaded up throughout our trip, with fuel, water, toys, and the spare tire (full sized spare). The truck has a customer steel rear bumper, built to accommodate a swing out tire carrier or other accessories. The FJ has manual front lockers and (5) 33" BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires with 90% tread.

As far as negatives go, the driver's side rear door's quarter window is a slightly different tint than the others. (it was replaced after the original was punched in while traveling through Guatemala) A small portion of the driver's side tail-light is cracked along side a small dent from when we were stuck down a trail on Isla Ometepe in Nicaragua. The edge of the rear wheel-well body panel is starting to rust a little on both sides. This is fairly recent, noticed really over the past few months.

I'm asking $10k OBO. Would be willing to work out delivering somewhere around the SE as well.

Feel free to call, text, or email me directly if you have any questions,

Bump for a price drop. I'm headed out to sea soon and am asking 10k, or best offer.

Updated:

Power steering pump is weak, so steering feels a little jerky. A couple of small leaks, so some seals could be replaced. Its a really nice vehicle, but needs to get ran through the shop to button up some loose ends. As I said, I am headed out to sea for a few months and am just not able to give this truck the attention it deserves.
