1983 BJ60 *SOLD* - Saskatoon Sask

*HAS BEEN SOLD* 1983 BJ60 4x4, 3B diesel engine, 5 speed, factory air. 358,000 kms.

Brown exterior, brown/tan interior. Pretty much dead stock. Nice and clean, runs well, no major rattles or squeaks. Glass is perfect. Approx. 2000 kms on full set of Michelin LTX A/T tires (including spare.) Body is decent - some rust, has a small ding in the rear gate otherwise no dents.

Stuff I haven't found time to fix yet:

- Front engine seal is leaking, drips a bit of oil.
- Rear wiper / washer not working.
- Torn upholstery on outside edge of driver's seat (the usual...)

This unit is currently located and registered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thought about selling it last year but hung on... Still, I don't drive it a lot these days. :frown: I'm sad to say it, but mostly we just could use the cash, instead of spending more on another vehicle registration.

Lots of photos and a few more details to be seen at:

I'm having a hard time putting a fair price to it, but since required to post a price I'll say asking $6000.00 CDN for starters. All fair offers will be considered.

If you're interested, have any questions or would like to make an offer, call Allan at 1.306.244.0909 or e.mail allan@monkeywrenchgraphics.com

heres a bump for a good looking 60, c'mon theres gotta be someone down in the states looken for a good BJ60

no problem, always nice to help out another flat lander:grinpimp: not very many on this site

Ha ha - I guess. Must be nice to live out on VI if you drive an FJ.

Still, there are lots of LC's to be seen bombing around out here. Don't know why more of those folks aren't joining this forum, it's been a great resource for me. I haven't posted much, but have been lurking around reading threads for a while now.

BTW - I notice you said "another" flatlander - are you a prairie expat?

Ironically, this ol' Toy has probably seen more "action" out in Alberta/BC than here in Sask - at least since we've owned it. My wife and I are paraglider pilots, and I'm sure you can guess that a lot of the launches are up logging roads that pretty much exclude any 2WD vehicles. A good sturdy 4WD is not necessary, but it sure opens up a lot more options!!

Thanks again for the bump!

well...at the moment im in Finland but my truck and parents place is on the island...my whole family is from sask though. my family still has a ranch about 30 min away from Loon Lake or about 10k from goodsoil but goodsoil is pretty small.....

I didnt realize there were many cruisers out there....its been to long since iv been back and iv only been into cruisers for about a year or two...and plus, most of the time im back i work on the farm so....not alot of time for cruiser watching.

im hoping to drive the 40 back this summer in Aug, but i have a few bugs to work out before my parents will let me drive it back.

the 4WD makes it more fun then going in a 2wd though....cant get into much trouble in a 2wd but in a cruiser you can get good 'nd stuck

The truck was domestically sold in Canada.
Can/US has an agreement where any vehicle domestically sold in the other country can be imported at any time. If outside of Can/US the 15 (Can) and 25 (US) year rule applies.

Hope that helps.
Cheers,
N.

Wow, so how the h*ll did you wind up in Finland?? (And without your FJ?)
Yeah, I know where Loon Lake is - I've been though that area a couple of times, but it's pretty much out there on the fringes, so it's not one of those places you happen to travel through very often on your way somewhere else!! I grew up in a similar place, except the opposite side of the province - in Carrot River, up in the North East corner of "civilization".... Pretty much everything North of there is bush as well!!)

Thanks very much also to moiremusic and nickw for the informative posts - jeez, you guys are fast!! I knew I could find all that info here on the forum, but you had it posted in here before I even saw the post from wyomingben myself!! - but also I had not seen the "Zander's Canadian Diesel Import" page, lots of helpful info there. Thanks again!

wyomingben, let me know if you're still interested after you've read all that stuff. (I really have to apologize on behalf of the Canadians for Zander's experience with that "
David Zondag" character - the guy sounds like a real a**hole, I'm embarrassed that such people are calling themselves Canadians.)

ANYWAYS - let me know if there's anything I can do from this end to help out with the import process, if you are interested. Sounds like with new reg's you would have to be the one driving it over the border, but we'd certainly be willing to drive it down as far as the border for you. And don't hesitate to ask if there's any
thing in particular that you'd like to see - I can take detailed photos of anything you'd like to see.

One thing I DON'T think will be an issue for you is the speedo - it's got both km/h and mph scales. The odo is in kms though. I can send a close-up photo of the speedo if you like. AND I just realized I don't have the VIN posted. I had thought I'd put it on the web page, but I just noticed that I didn't so I'll include it here. When I have a moment I'll add it to the web page too.

It's: JT3BJ60G1D0012027

Thanks for the interest, please let me know if there's anything else at all that you'd like to know. Hope to hear from you soon!

gosh I like the color! and an 83 would start me with a straight flush here soon, AIR CONDITIONING to boot!:)
358,000 km so the shifting is a little tight yet hey and one could actually utilize engine breaking too...:D

Oh and the best part evidentally if I actually owned a running Landcruiser I might be able to get my "rookie" status back. I asked the gods of ih8mud when I can lose my rookie status and now i am a Wookie...
tis a tough crowd on here!

Decent looking 60.... the guys down south had better grab it before our dollar gets any higher!
