selling for friend in socal, these are all apart ready for restoration. The frames are titled and powder coated, the 45 cab is stripped and primed, and comes with all the body parts including the bed.The troopy is a factory lhd, probably from south america,it needs some work,no top or doors. These are rare and hard to find, the 45 is $7500 and the troopy is $6500,no pics at this time,I will put you in contact with the owner if you are serious,he lives in the hills and cannot ship anything,so it must be picked up outside the grapvine area in so cal, I will not go get them!! I bought some things from him and told him I would get the word out!

45

Any more information on the 45 as in engine, axles, RHD ? I will be heading down to So Cal in a few would like to stop and see.
Thanks

I'm new to the forum, but I've been looking for a lhd troopy to restore for some time. I'll have no problem picking it up from So Cal, any more information you could offer on that truck?

Sent from my phone using IH8MUD

Thats the one, not sure why he raised the prices? I guess he doesnt want to sell them:confused: Not sure on what drivetrains if any that they come with, its too bad cause they are rare and hard to find.

Sounds like he is selling just frames at only $3,000 each. A 81 and 83. Doesn't mention if he has any VIN plates to go with them. Anything imported new here starting in 81 had to have a seventeen digit VIN number. Those seventeen digits were on the VIN plates not the frame. If he has no VIN plates not sure how you would register it. If they were imports I would still think you would need more then a frame and title. The 1980 listing on Eaby I understand. Ebay in the US requires seventeen digits in the VIN on anything 81 and newer. So he lists them as 1980 to get arond that

He actually got all the frames titled and non opp'ed many years ago,and has plates as well, not sure how he did it?

Could he have had complete vehicles when he titled them and has since parted them out? In your original post you said your had bought some parts from the guy so parting them out doesn't seem impossible. Do you know if the FJ40 are later imports or US models?

One I would never pay close to $3K for a frame, title and VIN plates. Two if your not from CA your going to need to have a inspection to transfer the title. Don't know of any state that will issue a title to just a frame plates. Even if I was from CA I would be careful. The way my luck goes when I wanted to transfer the title CA DMV would say since it's a non opp title we need to do a inspection to see it's current state before we can transfer the title.
