Last year I had a bad engine knock 115k miles, 2F. I posted and asked for help. See before and after videos.
Thanks for all your help!! I am posting the videos to help others I read that were searching with the same issue.
This rig was pulled out of a barn and started after 15 years . Using normal precautions , new oil, oiled each cylinder manual first cranks, new fuel, etc.
The engine ran strong but knocked like hell. Good oil pressure and compression.
I could not find an FJ specialist anywhere near Saint Louis.
I found a FANTASTIC family auto/machine shop that diagnosed and put in new push rods. The old ones had bent. Job completed.
$600. All in.
I highly recommend Sellenriek Automotive. Saint Louis MO. ‘Old School mechanics’ that loved working on my rig.

Here is the engine noise with bent push rods:

There is a good chance the bend push rod and knock were the reason it got parked. Who knows what shape the body would be if it hadn't been parked fifteen years ago. Bend rod may have been the result of someone doing a valve adjustment on a cold engine and even then not enough clearance.
