1981 diesel pickup 1l

I just bought a 1981 Toyota pickup with a 1l diesel engine. The head is cracked beyond repair, I will be replacing the head soon and would like to know if there is anything I should look out for or any tricks. I also need a head and gasket set, any ideas? Thanks in advance.
