I just got a brand new toyota wiper motor. My 40 was missing motor, switch and wiring. I want to wire it up so it will pass inspection. I plan on using a toggle switch on the dash until I can get a regular switch. My question is what is each wire on the motor plug for? :bang:

solid blue, blue w/black stripe, blue w/ red stripe and blue w/white stripe.

I just want the motor to run in high speed and park.

I believe the solid blue is the park. unswitched 12v?
The white stripe and red stripe go directly into motor housing. High speed low speed?
The black stripe terminates on the cover at the plastic mount soldered in place. no clue

Do they all get twelve volts or is there a neutral or ground other than the black wire?

I dont want to fry this thing so any help would be great.

Blue 12 volt constant

ground blue/black = high

ground blue/red = low

ground blue/white = park

So...I run a 12v from fuse block to solid blue. Hot only when ingnition on.
I just ground the blue w/white stripe to the body somewhere.
I ground the the blue w/black also but I have a switch in between to turn on/off?

Does the low line need to be connected for the high to work?

Thanks for the help. I know nothing about this.:o

Yes....

each function grounded separate...... no two together at the same time........

You'll need a two position switch(3 prong, center open).... center terminal grounded, another terminal for the blue/black and the other blue/white..........
