I am trying to determine if I have the correct gas pedal in my ‘79 fj40. From the wiring diagram I am supposed to have a fuel cut solenoid that connects to the emissions control module. I ordered a used version that includes the mounting bracket but when I put it in position it seem like I am missing something. It’s almost like I have the wrong gas pedal because there is no linkage that connects to the solenoid. Am I mixing things up here or what is it that I am missing? I have found other pedal assemblies online that show a different linkage that will connect to this so I am assuming I have the wrong pedal assemblies.

The fuel-cut solenoid is on the top of the carburetor. The throttle-position switch is on the accelerator pedal. Was the pedal cut? My '75 pedal has an extended piece, that goes up to the switch, which you are holding in the photo.
I think I was looking at my wiring diagram wrong and identifying it incorrectly if you are saying that the throttle position switch is the two wires coming out of the carburetor. If this is the case then the 79 does not use a throttle position switch. What would the throttle position switch connect to in the diagram because I am not seeing one. Thanks for the help!!

I'm not an expert here, but...

The Throttle Positioner is the diaphragm that opens the choke, on top of the carb.

The Throttle Position Switch, as in the image above, seems unique to earlier models, like my '75.

The Haynes manual has the Throttle Position Switch illustrated as the accelerator pedal, in the emissions control chapter. It connects to the computer, and operates the power valve in the carburetor, via a solenoid in the Vacuum Switching Valve.

I’ve found this photo of a 78 fj40
