[Living in the Past]

If this is a US Import it different than most of the world. 1/79 exhaust ran out side the frame from the front of the cowl to the rear wheel. 1/79-7/80 because of the increased heat from CAT Toyota ran the exhaust under the frame at the front of the cowl. Other markets went over the frame. 8/80 Toyota added a heat shield to the cowl foot well and ran the exhaust over the frame like other markets.
Here is my 79 which stock up to the muffler. Here is under the frame at the cowl.

Here is the routing at the rear wheel.

to add on the 79 stock setup
it had an adaptor to go from the round 3 bolt flange on the manifold to the 2 pipe setup under the frame, it was 3-4" long
