1977 fj40 instrument cluster removal

#3 cross head screws - 8x1.25mm . Need to get a good set or at least a #2 & #3 JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) compatible pair of good quality drivers - I prefer either Vessel or Hozan . If you go to www.vesseltools.com and use IH8MUD in the coupon code it will get you a discount . Philips drivers do not fit JIS screws properly and will destroy the heads - they are by design intended to "cam out" before exceeding the fastener's torque limit - JIS screws are not made this way and will go beyond the limit of the screw's threaded portion shank .

BTW- #1 rule before removing that cluster is to disconnect the negative battery terminal . If you don't , there is a near-certain risk you will ground the ammeter wire connections that feeds the cab off the battery and destroy several parts...

Thanks for your help , but I think Im at the point of removing the hole cluster. and going Dakota digital.
