Hey folks,

A change in my life has made me reconsider daily driving my FJ40, not to mention that nearly 200mi a day isn't fair to the truck even if it does it without complaint. As such it is time to let her go to a new home.

No longer for sale

1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
Everything is stock

Everything works (well the heater needs new switches and plumbing)
Street Legal (In Texas at least)
Trollhole top with RealSteel bows
New ignition from points to plugs
New Autolite 2100 carb (runs awesome)
New waterpump
New Fan clutch
recently replaced front main oil seal
new oil pan gasket
Hi-Lift mounted on spare tire
Jerrycan on the back

Very solid and dependable truck

Also comes with a rough but working Warn 8274 winch, mounting plate and roller fairlead

Good:
Nearly everything. It is a Vintage Land Cruiser FJ40. Trollhole soft top, I think it looks pretty BA.

Bad:

Could use a brake job in the back.
could use a new axel seal on the drivers side rear, very slight leak.

Rust on lower passenger door, some on the dash and rear bed area.

Driver side front fender is bent a little, could be replaced or ran as is.

Could use weather seals on doors

Ugly:
Needs new seats (I like the ones that are in it). You can source these from nearly any vehicle in any junk yard or aftermarket for however much you want to pay. I really didn't care about how rough the current ones are but the gf and son seem to want more comfort. It's your call really.

There is rust; nothing horrible, the frame is clean and strong. Paint isn't great, it is rattlecan for easy touch-ups (Krylon Satin Pebble)

I feel the price is fair, but if you disagree please send me a message

If I think of anything else I will mention it later
Any questions please send me a message

Thanks,
-Will

That price sounds more than fair to me. GLWS.

I'd have a hard time letting that one go but best of luck on your sale.
I still have the 40 I bought when I was 15 years old. 20 years later I look back on the few times I thought about selling and I had Freinds and family call me crazy.

I feel fortunate for those people in my life.

I feel for you. Had to do the same with my 40 in 01. Thus, no matter how much I get yelled at, I hold on to my 55.

When the time is right, another (or a similar passion) will come your way!

Man my timing sucks!

Hey folks,

I need to apologize for even posting this up, and especially to those who were interested in it. I had been having second thoughts about selling the FJ40 for the past few days and when I told my son that it would be gone soon, he ran outside and jumped in it crying and reminding me that I had promised him he would get to drive it one day. That pretty much cemented my decision to keep it.

I hope that this hasn't soured anyone's opinion of me or caused anyone to much consternation.

Again... apologies.

Hey Will, you wont regret keeping her. I took a quick look at it last year on one of our two kayak fishing trips to Black gap and she looked great!

On another note, How is the road after you cross Maravillas? Can you get to shelter 23 or 24?

Cheers,
Colby

Done a lot to the FJ40 since last year, come back out and see it again.

Also the road after you cross was worked on all summer and is in better shape than it has been in many years (although we have had some torrential rains and washes over the last month so like always it can be a gamble). Getting to 23-24 shouldn't be an issue.

Hey Will,
Awesome, I was wondering if yall were also getting rain. I may try to come down at the end of the month, got some stuff for Johnny at Stillwell and need a fishing trip. How's the quail population lookin this year?
