After purchasing 2 voltage regulators, one from CCOT and one on eBay, it was frustrating figuring out the happy spot. Had issues where a cold start would peak 16V even adjusted at 14.4V @ 2000rpm, then lower back down to 14.4V when warmed up with a new alternator. Tried adjusting it to warm up at 14.4V, but a warmed idle would then be at 11V.
Have searched far and wide to a solid state solution, but even Wagner said they do not sell to private parties any longer.
Was able to find a solid state VR for a 3-wire on Autozone. All three wire colors are the same, however the Duralast harness is a little narrower than the '77 OEM harness. Just had to snip and install connectors to adapt the wires to the OEM harness.
Hope this helps someone else who have been having issues finding a solid state solution! Tested with a volt meter and a voltage gauge and works perfectly.
