I purchased this beautiful and very capable U.S. Spec. FJ40 from a local Houston Mud Member in October 2022. He bought it out of Tucson, Arizona where it lived much of its life. This 40 is known by a few guys on this forum that wheeled with the PO, and some of the members of the Houston’s Bayou City Cruisers Club are familiar with the truck as well. It has a proven history as a very dependable, unstoppable rig. PO put it through its paces on multiple trails in Colorado (Montezuma, Taylor Creek and Pearl) and it didn’t miss a beat. It’s had an easy life during my ownership, sadly with limited and very mild off-road use.
This is my third FJ40 over a 20 year period and by far the nicest. I’ve truly enjoyed my time with this truck but am simply looking to thin the herd, or possibly change it up a bit. I would consider very original, no rust, well maintained FJ60’s or 62’s or fully restored versions that largely retained their stock appearance as a partial or 1:1 trade depending on condition.
Price for an outright sale is $39,500 firm, non-negotiable. Serious inquiries only please. I’m not in a need-to-sell situation so it can continue to live here if there are no takers at the asking price.
Please be sure to check with your wife, significant other or anyone else that you require approval from before making inquiries or considering purchasing this truck.
I’ve included detail below outlining the upgrades and maintenance work done during the PO’s ownership and mine. I’ve put roughly 3,000 miles on this truck (odometer shows 33,398 now-TMU) in the 2 years I’ve owned it. It’s been stored in a climate and humidity controlled garage at my residence since purchased, and has been maintained with an open checkbook.
Everything is fully functional on this 40, so it needs nothing and is a turn-key rig. I will also include a set of new, uninstalled OEM-style seat covers, a truck cover, and the original used Toyota rubber front floor mat (noted below).

I’ve been fortunate enough to own a few classics over the years and this 40 receives more compliments and thumbs up on the road than any of them. It’s one incredible truck that will serve someone well for many, many years to come.
Thank you for your interest, and please let me know if you have any questions.
