1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser w/ Small Block Chevy V8, Edelbrock Carb and Chevy 4 speed manual transmission (unsure what model). This cruiser is essentially a work In progress it has a lot of upgrades, particularly mechanical upgrades, and still needs some TLC and a few creature comforts to be an everyday driver.

Located in Dallas, TX

The Upgrades:

- Chevy V8 w/ Edelbrock Carb and Chevy 4 speed transmission, Runs and Drives Great!!!

- Power steering conversion w/ adjustable steering wheel, handle wide 35” tires great

- Shackle reversal

- Unknown lift that is more than ample to accommodate 35” tires

- 35” All Terrain Tires w/ LOTS of tread left

- Custom dash w/ aftermarket gauges and toggle switches, speedometer doesn’t work

- Custom front bumper that can be converted to air tank too

- Tire carrier and toolbox in rear, tire carrier fixed, not those swing away kind

- Full family roll cage

- Rear seat converted to bench style seat w/ speakers under it, rear seat missing though

- Fuel tank replaced w/ larger capacity tank and moved to rear w/ skid plate underneath to protect it

- Frame and body have been sanded and repainted, frame still looks great but body probably needs to be sanded and repainted soon to keep rust from developing.

----> The body on this Landcruiser is very good. One the main reason I bought it was because it had very little rust and the little that is starting to show could easily be sanded and painted

The Bad:

- Brakes need to be bled

- No emergency brake is installed, or at least no handle for it.

- Wiring needs to be looked at, a lot of electronics do not work I.E. head lights, tail light, blinkers and wipers… I think it is something simple on the electronics because the vehicle was recently rewired and passed South Dakota inspection in 2006.

- Ignition switch needs to be replaced, vehicle starts but ignition is finicky, would be less than $25

- Has small coolant leak somewhere, I found a small collection of coolant on frame rail near the radiator. I haven't found any drips on the ground, I think it only drips when the engine is running.

- Seats need to be replaced

- Drivers side engine compartment needs to be unbolted and aligned properly

I bought this cruiser 6 months ago off Ebay w/ the plan of fixing it up, but unfortunately it has just sat under car cover in my drive way. I have been periodically driving it around the neighborhood but unfortunately it does need work to pass inspection and drive around the city.

This is a great Landcruiser that just needs some TLC to finish the project. In my opinion it is pretty much ready to be an off road only rig but needs some things to make it an every day driver. Asking to $4300 obo

As far as I know the differentials are stock. The cruiser has no prob getting power to the wheels though, you could spin the tires if you tried.
